Zero Suicide Alliance – Free 20 minute online Suicide Awareness training
Through the 20 minute suicide awareness training you will gain skills and confidence to help someone who may be considering suicide. Click here complete the training.

Connect 5 – For organisations like charities, community groups and local authority staff as well as individuals working in key settings, Connect 5 courses are 100% subsidised thanks to funding from Somerset Public Health. The Connect 5 course aims to develop an understanding of things that impact wellbeing and build the capacity and capability of people to have more proactive and evidence-based conversations about mental health. Mental Health First Aid (2-day Adult)
In the same way as we learn physical first aid, Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to recognise those crucial warning signs of mental ill health and become a mental health first aider for your organisation. ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) ASIST is a two-day face-to-face workshop featuring powerful audiovisuals, discussions, and simulations. At ASIST, you’ll learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, providing a skilled intervention, and developing a safety plan to keep someone alive. Every Life Matters – Suicide Alertness (3.5 hours) This training is aimed at anyone who wants to understand more about suicide, how to know when someone may be having thoughts of suicide, how to talk directly and comfortably about suicide, and what we can all do to offer practical support. Completion of the training will also qualify individuals for the countywide Orange Button community awareness scheme (link to orange button page). Every Life Matters – Suicide Awareness (90 mins) This one-hour online training session is aimed at anyone in the local community who wants to understand more about suicide and what we can all do to make a difference. Every Life Matters – Safety Planning (2 hours)
This 2 hour online session gives you the skills and tools to support an individual to develop their own safety plan. It is suitable for anyone in a support role who has already taken one of our suicide awareness or alertness courses, and wants to gain further skills in suicide intervention. Harmless – Self Harm training for system leaders and stakeholders, School Mental Health Leads, education and community frontline staff, Parents and Carers.

Trauma Foundation South West (TFSW) Working with Interpreters – Training for both interpreters and staff working in a mental health setting, to enable them to develop additional skills and knowledge to work together effectively and support individuals with their mental health needs.
