Open Mental Health - Somerset’s Mental Health Alliance

Open Mental Health is an alliance of local voluntary organisations, the NHS and social care, Somerset Council, and individuals with lived experience of mental health. We are working together to improve the way people in Somerset receive support with their mental health by providing access to a number of specialist services including NHS support, housing advice, debt and employment advice, volunteering opportunities, community activities, peer support and local exercise groups. We want to ensure that people in Somerset get the right support when they need it most.

Domestic Abuse Service

Somerset Council’s locally based confidential service, offering a range of specialist support to anyone who needs advice and help on domestic abuse.

Shout

If you struggle to pick up and ring to ask for help, you can contact Shout via text on the number below. Shout is a 24/7 text service, free on all major mobile networks, for anyone in crisis anytime, anywhere. It’s a place to go if you’re struggling to cope and you need immediate help.

Shout will work with you to find ways to help you access the support you have in place as well as other forms of support available to you. They will also contact emergency services or social services if needed.

Somerset and Avon Rape and Sexual Abuse Support (SARSAS)

Support for people of all genders aged 13+ affected by rape or any kind of sexual assault or abuse at any time in their lives.

Somerset Carers

You can receive support from Somerset Carers for free if are over 18 and you look after someone in an ‘unpaid’ caring capacity (not employed or self employed as a Carer).

Somerset Council Social Care

To report a child or an adult at risk.

Somerset Drug and Alcohol Service (SDAS)

Somerset Drug and Alcohol Service is your local, free, confidential, and non-judgemental service and supports anyone with issues involving drugs or alcohol, whatever the age of the person involved.

Somerset Foundation NHS Trust Mental Health Services

Our trust provides mental health services to all age ranges and supports people with a range of mental health problems whether they are mild, moderate or severe.

Somerset Suicide Bereavement Support Service

We support anyone aged 14+ in Somerset who has been affected by the death of someone through suicide, be that personally or professionally.

A Village Agent can help you if you are over 18 years old and need help, support and advice on nearly anything.
